A REVIEW ON DRICLOR: Treating Excessive Sweating and Underarm Offensive Odor/ Body Odor (B.O.)

What did i use for EXCESSIVE SWEATING OF ARMPIT/ UNDERARM , PALMS AND HANDS and even offensive underarm odor or body odor (BO) ?

DRICLOR (Php 1, 000.00) :Photo not mine

My Issues and Concern: Excessive Sweating in palms, feet and underarms

I used to suffer from excessive sweating on my palms, feet, and underarms ever since I was in 6th grade. It was such  a bother especially when I was still studying because my excessive sweating is also equated with a very offensive body odor no matter how we wash our clothes, even if I  changed my diet, lifestyle. I increased my water intake to 10-12 glasses a day, I tried bathing once a day, twice a day, 3x a day, changing of clothes 6 x aday, i have tried almost every type of soap and deodorant for 3 months each but to no avail. Even the powdered TaWas, and the hard tawas stick variety but still , those interventions did not help me on my excessive sweating nad offensive BO especially on my armpit aka underarm areas. Even when in air-conditioned rooms, I would still be sweating like a horse.

The Treatment:

Then I came across a magazine advertisment where there was,a post on DRICLOR. I immediately checked Mercury Drug Pharmacy and Rose Pharmacy but no stocks were available.I waited until it got restocked since during those years, I have no knowledge yet regarding Lazada and Ebay and I was very apprehensive of online purchases because of the fear of being scammed.

At first I was very stunned upon knowing that the product costs about Php900.00 and then later decided to purchase realizing that I have already spent more  that to treat my almost decade-old BO problem so why should I not try this?

Treatment Regimen:

  1. I bathed twice a day. Once in the morning and once before reting to bed. Bathing is different from showering.
  2. I shaved/ waxed once or twice every week. I have lots of armpit hair and I have found out that hair= B.O. , too. My dark armpits got fairer  with calamansi juice treatment for 20 minutes upon arising in the morning and rinsing when bathing/ showering.
  3. I drank lots of water like 10-12 glasses a day ( 1glass is 240mL of water so do the math).
  4. When using Driclor for the first time, I used it once a day, last thing at night when I have already bathed and have dried my armpits. Perspiration is lesser by then as I am about to sleep and as written in leaflet. I also made sure that my sleepwear is sleeveless when applying Driclor as it will stain clothes before it dries. I also did away all my necklaces as it changed the color of my necklace once.
  5. The morning after, I bathed and just used the roll-on deodorant that I have been using.
  6. I do not apply Driclor 24 hours before and after I shave.
  7. After a week of doing the above-mentioned regimen, I then proceeded to weaning away from the use of roll-on. I did the same steps but now using powdered tawas since I have observed that my armpit got drier in the morning and  that the B.O. has been tamed.
  8. After 2 weeks of doing so, I have realized that the excessive sweating has subsided si I decided to change my use of Driclor to every other day.
  9. After another 2 weeks , I changed the frequency of Driclor use to every 3 days; to once a week for 4 weeks; to every other week for 2 months ; once a month for 6 months and then I stopped after finding out that I never had any B. O. episode even after a 2-hour  walk-jog-sprint sesh.
  10. I then continued my treatment of bathing twice daily and using my tawas stick, fruit-veggie-fish diet; shaving/waxing regularly and drinking 10-12 glasses of water.

Results:

I no longer have B.O. If I do, that means I have forgotten to use my tawas stick every after bathing for 36 hours now hahaha.

Verdict:

I was almost hopeless regarding my b.o. but after religiously using the product and adhering to the instructions on the leaflet, I was so thankful for that magazine ad and I highly recommend this product.  I no longer have B.O. even if I sweat a lot and even if I only use tawas as deodorant, no offensive smell seeps out from my armpit skin. Thank Heavens!

Do I still use it until now?

No!After my B.O. got treated, I no longer used the product since it contains Aluminum and I wanted to be low maintenance and wanted to practice minimalism in all aspects of my life.

What have I been using after my Driclor treatment?

DEONAT
I replaced it with powdered tawas unscented for around 8 years but I have ditched my good old powedered tawas when I have found the DEO NAT DEODORANT 80G TAWAS MINERAL STCK  at Php179.00 by Rexona. See photo below. It works the same miraculous way on my armpit. It's okay to sweat; it is a 'natural tendency'.  I will tell you as to how I use the tawas stick on my other blog post.

    1. It may be hormonal or may be due to the weather. Having sweaty underarms is pretty normal and indicates that your body is functional well, i.e., if you don’t have hyperhydrosis. My aim with Driclor is to control the offensive smell but not to totally dry out my armpit... A dry armpit on a very warm environment may be iindicative of poorly functioning sweat glands. It would also be beneficial if you see a family doctor regarding this.

  11. Been using Driclor for 3 years na, but nag stop ako almost 4 months. Ngayon gumagamit po ulit ako but I noticed na parang di na umeeffect sa akin kasi walang pinagbago yung sweat sa armpits ko. Bakit po kaya? Dati naman isang gamit ko lang dry na agad, ito more than weeks na, wala talagang pinagbago.. Kakabili ko palang naman nitong driclor. 🥺
